چکیده

Objective: Treponema denticola “T. denticola” is a pathogen associated with periodontal diseases that exhibits capacity for adherence, invasion, and colonization of host tissues, which allows alternating its location damage in different sites human body. This review aimed to discuss studies detected T. atherosclerotic plaques, demonstrating the importance disease on systemic health necessity exploring outcome this apart from oral cavity. Methodology: Fifty-five were identified gathered according following topics: Periodontal disease, atherosclerosis denticola. In vitro vivo published between 2002 2020 searched PubMed, raising relevant insights about role association atherosclerosis, focusing bacterial tissue invasion development atherosclerosis. Results: After bibliographic review, it was possible identify presence other pathogens cardiac or vascular tissues blood serum, as well, there research evidence relationship shown. Conclusion: The toxins host’s immune inflammatory response may contribute

Role of Treponema denticola in periodontal diseases.

Among periodontal anaerobic pathogens, the oral spirochetes, and especially Treponema denticola, have been associated with periodontal diseases such as early-onset periodontitis, necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis, and acute pericoronitis. Basic research as well as clinical evidence suggest that the prevalence of T denticola, together with other proteolytic gram-negative bacteria in high numbers...

Analysis of a growth-phase-regulated two-component regulatory system in the periodontal pathogen Treponema denticola.

Nothing is currently known regarding the global regulatory networks of Treponema denticola and other oral spirochetes. In this report, we assess the properties and potential phosphotransfer capability of a putative two-component regulatory system (TCS) of T. denticola that is formed by the products of open reading frames tde0032 (a sensor kinase) and tde0033 (a response regulator), henceforth d...

Inhibition of selenium metabolism in the oral pathogen Treponema denticola.

In this report we provide evidence that the antimicrobial action of stannous salts and a gold drug, auranofin, against Treponema denticola is mediated through inhibition of the metabolism of selenium for synthesis of selenoproteins.

Presence of Treponema denticola and Porphyromonas gingivalis in children correlated with periodontal disease of their parents.

Considerable evidence exists suggesting that periodontal disease is due to the overgrowth of a finite number of specific bacteria such as Porphyromonas gingivalis, Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, Treponema denticola, Bacteroides forsythus, and Prevotella intermedia, among others. Three of these organisms-P. gingivalis, T. denticola, and B. forsythus-can be easily detected in plaque sample...

Porphyromonas gingivalis and Treponema denticola Mixed Microbial Infection in a Rat Model of Periodontal Disease

Porphyromonas gingivalis and Treponema denticola are periodontal pathogens that express virulence factors associated with the pathogenesis of periodontitis. In this paper we tested the hypothesis that P. gingivalis and T. denticola are synergistic in terms of virulence; using a model of mixed microbial infection in rats. Groups of rats were orally infected with either P. gingivalis or T. dentic...
